Patterning through texture. Although this is not something totally new, what I really find interesting right now is where you see it showing up. Surfaces typically not known for sporting designer textures in the form of carving, cutting, stitching, etc… have been reimagined. Things like shoe soles, car seats, appliances, and just about any other surface previously plagued with a nondescript face. We say “great”. There is enough plain and flat in the world as far as we’re concerned.
