IN THE REAL WORLD – Big Brother

CBS’s Big Brother has entered its 14th season and this time around the house features Inhabit’s Wall Flats! It’s the same house from season 13 but completely remodeled in a contemporary, almost theatrical mix of real world design ideas and over-the-top explosions of imagination. Throughout the house there are three different styles of Wall Flats used to weave color, pattern and texture together into one big smorgasbord of design for the eyes. We love seeing how our products can be paired with a myriad of design ideas and partnered with the right accessories to fit a whole cast of environments.

The main entrance uses the Drift Wall Art in a funky metallic moss green color.

And keeping with the sensory overload theme the kitchen/dining area uses a full on assault of vibrant color and material juxtaposition to create what is a surprisingly cohesive space. Check out the Braille Wall Art behind the table being paired with the patterned wall paper in a daring design that when done right looks amazing!

In contrast to the frenetic theme in the rest of the house, the bedroom uses the Hive Wall Flats to create a whimsical, boutique hotel type atmosphere.

We fully get that this is extreme and very unlikely to make it into anyone’s space in an unedited form. What we can take away from this for practical use in our own spaces is the fearless pairing of color, pattern and texture. These elements are what gives a space life.

Be sure to check out Big Brother on Sundays & Wednesday at 8/7c and Thursdays 9/8c.

IN THE REAL WORLD – Larry Ladig and Pattern Magazine

Pattern Magazine is a unique design concept that interweaves the talents and resources of artists for a greater-good. This gives them access to one-another’s talents and a high-profile outlet for pent-up creative energy. We love the way Indianapolis-based photographer, Larry Ladig uses Inhabit’s Braille 3D wall tiles to tie the geometry of the jewelry pieces and the circular wall texture together.

Check out Larry’s photo and film work and definitely give Pattern Magazine a flip-through. Take a cue from Larry and get the Braille Wall Flats for your project.
